Welcome to our Reception/Year 1 Class! This year, our Reception and Year 1 children will be learning together in a mixed-age class. Through a balance of play, exploration and structured learning, we create an engaging environment where every child is supported, challenged and encouraged to flourish.

Hello! I am Mrs Hitch!
I am so excited, and feel it is a real privilege, to be part of the Reception/Year 1 class this year.
Before joining St John's, I spent many years working in Early Years, both in Reception and Nursery settings, where I gained valuable experience and insight into early years teaching and learning. I am passionate about being part of the St John's community and ensuring every child who comes to St John's receives experiences that enable them to flourish and grow, grounded in strong Christian values.
In addition to my role in Reception, I am also proud to be the school’s SENCO, supporting our commitment to ensuring every child’s individual needs are met and that all children reach their God-given potential.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new recipes, visiting new places, and going to the theatre.
Hello, I am Mrs Satchell!
Having been a past pupil, student teacher and a teacher at St Johns, I feel very privileged to be teaching a mixed Reception and Year One Class this year. I will be working on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I first joined the school as a teacher in 2015 and absolutely loved the warm and welcoming community. St Johns is a special place where children are encouraged to be the best they can be and I am lucky to be a small part of that journey.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my two young sons, trips to the beach and going to the theatre.
