  • SEND and Inclusion at St Johns Meads

Thank you for your interest in St John’s Meads CE Primary School.

If you would like more information, please contact Mrs. Kelly Hitch, Senco, senco@sjm.academy or the school office on 01323 730255 or at office@sjm.academy

As an inclusive school, we believe that every child at St John’s Meads is wonderfully unique, bringing their own strengths, experiences and qualities to our community. Guided by our school values of love, independence, generosity, honesty and teamwork, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil feels valued, supported and able to thrive.

At St John’s, we aim to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. Alongside the ‘high-quality teaching’ that every child is entitled to, we provide tailored adjustments and personalised support to help each learner flourish.

A child is considered to have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities if they have a learning difficulty or disability that requires special educational provision; support that is additional to or different from what is typically offered to children of the same age. Our approach ensures that every pupil receives the right help at the right time, rooted in compassion, openness and collaborative teamwork.

On this page, you will find information about the SEND provision available here at St John’s Meads and how we work together as a team [the child, their families, school staff and outside agencies] to promote confidence, independence and a deep sense of belonging.

If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the school. In the spirit of honesty and generosity, we are always happy to discuss any questions you may have and work with you to support your child’s journey.
